    country bedroom

Pave the way for spring with pops of yellow adding a cheery element to a scheme.

We love the reclaimed feel of this pretty country bedroom with its vintage furniture and accessories, and beautiful mix and match fabrics. Gorgeous golden toiles are teamed with neutral checks and bird and leaf motif fabrics dotted with pops of yellow for a relaxed look with a rustic twist.

The fabrics are all from the Forever Spring fabric collection in Buttercup colourway by iLiv and are inspired by British woodlands and nature. A gorgeous distressed bed adds timeworn charm and elegance, and is layered up with cushions in, from back to front, Gold Finch, Finch Toile and Padstow, with a throw in both Finch Toile and Padstow, creating a sumptuous effect.

Floorlength curtains in Gold Finch add a whimsical touch, enhanced by blinds in Field Grasses, while stools in Padstow add to the informal feel.

A trio of wall lights above the bed defines the area and creates plenty of lighting for bedtime reading, while a woodpanel effect ceiling makes a statement overhead.

Here, a beautiful rustic backdrop of exposed stone and weathered wood sets the scene for crisp whites to sing out, with floral cushions and a stunning patchwork quilt incorporating florals (Burford quilt and Burford cushion covers from The White Company) hinting at spring to come.

The focal point is the Suffolk bed (from The White Company), which combines a curved and winged headboard for an elegant country feel, and is shown here in a linen union woven in Lancashire by the suppliers of Ian Mankin textiles.

Give the scheme a contemporary edge with a cube side table and add to the mix a chic oak bench at the foot of the bed for handy storage, then soften stone flooring with a kilim rug in a soothing soft grey. country bedroom barker and stonehouse

Make a bedroom extra cosy for chilly days ahead with the texture of beautiful wood. Here at Country Days, we couldn’t help but fall for this gorgeous modern country bedroom with its rustic, washed wooden furniture that makes a statement, yet creates a lovely, relaxed look.

The furniture is from the Austen range by Barker & Stonehouse and works beautifully against earthy green-based neutral walls. Crafted from reclaimed timber, the chunky designs evoke a contemporary feel.

‘Working with wood is a great way of creating interest in a neutral scheme,’ says Claire Hornby, creative stylist at Barker & Stonehouse. ‘The rustic nature of the furniture adds depth to the look and allows the rest of the palette to remain soft and sophisticated. The beauty of this material is in its uniqueness. By adding subtle injections of colour and pattern into the layout, this charming look can be interpreted in many ways to suit the natural architectural features of your property.’

Team with sumptuous faux fur throws and cushions, and fabulous antler-inspired lighting for a scheme that will pave the way for winter.

    Country bedroom

Have you noticed how dark it is first thing in the morning now? If you’re struggling to get out of  bed, you may be in the mood to revamp your bedroom and make it as cosy as possible, ready for hibernating when the days get shorter and chillier.

This gorgeous country bedroom, with its lovely autumnal feel, will provide plenty of inspiration. It combines French chic and rustic charm, and exudes that feeling of cosiness and comfort that’s just right for hunkering down.

The beautiful damask wallpaper makes an ornate backdrop to the elegant bed, the Camille, from The Cotswold Company. Its limewashed finish adds to the relaxed, lived-in look, while neutral upholstery complements it beautifully, with button detailing injecting an opulent touch. Dress the bed with crisp white bedlinen and a deep gold throw to add a pop of autumnal colour.

Then go for a stylish co-ordinated look by choosing limewashed furniture from the same Camille range to create a relaxing haven. The chest of drawers and bedside chest have charming antique-style button handles that add to the feel of time gone by.

Keep the look pared back with wooden floorboards for a classic rustic feel.

    Berry beautiful

    country bedroom

Take a leaf out of autumn’s book with this pretty country bedroom in autumnal tones.

With chillier evenings ahead, it’s time to consider cosying up the bedroom. And there’s nothing like a burst of a warm and vibrant colour such as orange to inject some comfort.

Here, eyecatching Pippin bedlinen and curtains from Sanderson Home take inspiration from autumn foliage. Overlapping stylised branch motifs feature jewel-like berries for a pretty pop of colour, and are complemented by a quirky print of irregular stripes and colourful spots. A bold orange piping adds a final flourish. Layer the bed with a soft stripy knit throw and cushions in co-ordinating tones to ensure a snuggly moment.

A beautiful French-style bed upholstered in a neutral linen makes the perfect partner and keeps the look light, bright and chic. Soft grey painted walls contribute to the airy feel and ensure an understated backdrop that doesn’t detract from the patterned fabrics.

Pair with clean-lined honey-toned furniture and wooden flooring to keep the look simple and emphasise the warmth – then introduce a textured rug on the floor to keep it cosy underfoot.

    romantic country bedroom

Those lazy, hazy days of summer are almost upon us, and there’s nothing like creating a bright and airy summery country bedroom for when the heat is on…

This stunning cream metal bed with its sophisticated swirls and curves creates a gorgeous airy focal point and bigs up the romantic mood. Team with neat bedside chests in an ivory shade to emphasise the breezy feel and counterbalance the ornateness of the bed.  Floor-length embroidered voile curtains keep the look elegant and filter the sunlight, helping the room stay cool on sunny days –  though you’ll need heavier weight curtains to keep out the early morning light. Dress the bed with pretty floral bedlinen and pop an extra throw at the bottom of it to keep evening chills at bay.

Wooden floorboards are perfect for keeping cool underfoot and introducing an understated feel.

    The height of elegance

    by  • 24/05/2016 • Country style • 0 Comments

    floral country bedroom

French style is ever popular in country interiors and this chic country bedroom is the height of elegance.

The painted bed creates a beautiful focal point in the scheme. Partner with pretty furniture such as the decorative Gustavian chest of drawers shown here (this one is the Marie design from Gustavian and is painted in a pretty blush pink for subtle warmth). Then introduce extra drama with an oversized chandelier – perfect for a room with a high ceiling as it helps to break up the space.

What really sets the scheme off beautifully though is the gorgeous statement-making floral backdrop that pulls the look together. The stunning wallpaper, Palais in Redowa from the Revolution Wallpapers collection by Little Greene, is a classic interpretation of a pattern typical of French wallpaper panels produced by the manufacturer Réveillon from the late 1700s onwards. The original design scale, style and surface treatment have all been maintained, embracing floral bouquets and garlands with drapery and arabesque decoration.

This is a scheme that is classically timeless, but the addition of a geometric rug soon injects a contemporary edge.

    floral country bedroom

This time of year is all about throwing open the doors and bringing the outside in, and it’s a look that’s perfect for a country bedroom.

Here, a classically elegant bedframe (Lily by Button & Sprung), evokes chic style with its understated scroll detail and row of handstitched buttons on the headboard, plus turned wooden legs.  Choosing a bed that’s upholstered in a neutral colourway, such as this silver grey shade, is guaranteed to go with any scheme and also creates a hint of hotel luxe.

Partner with pretty summer-meadow inspired bedlinen (this one is Butterfly print by Zara Home) for a seasonal edge and layer with a fringed woollen throw for chillier evenings.

Big up the country feel with a distressed, rustic bedside table and keep the flooring understated by teaming bare floorboards with a natural fibre rug.
