    country bedroom

Pave the way for spring with pops of yellow adding a cheery element to a scheme.

We love the reclaimed feel of this pretty country bedroom with its vintage furniture and accessories, and beautiful mix and match fabrics. Gorgeous golden toiles are teamed with neutral checks and bird and leaf motif fabrics dotted with pops of yellow for a relaxed look with a rustic twist.

The fabrics are all from the Forever Spring fabric collection in Buttercup colourway by iLiv and are inspired by British woodlands and nature. A gorgeous distressed bed adds timeworn charm and elegance, and is layered up with cushions in, from back to front, Gold Finch, Finch Toile and Padstow, with a throw in both Finch Toile and Padstow, creating a sumptuous effect.

Floorlength curtains in Gold Finch add a whimsical touch, enhanced by blinds in Field Grasses, while stools in Padstow add to the informal feel.

A trio of wall lights above the bed defines the area and creates plenty of lighting for bedtime reading, while a woodpanel effect ceiling makes a statement overhead.

    Vogue for vintage

    by  • 07/02/2017 • Country style • 0 Comments

Vintage furniture is an intrinsic way of introducing character and timeworn style to a scheme. And who doesn’t love a characterful piece, especially if you know the history behind it?

We love the simple, lived-in feel of this country dining room with pre-loved pieces creating a rustic ambience.

Every dining room needs storage for tablelinens, crockery, cutlery and glasses, and this scrubbed pine piece injects a farmhouse feel, in addition to its weathered charm. Combine with  a vintage table and chairs and dress with a pretty tablecloth in Cranbrook in charcoal and trimmed with Sackville Stripe in natural, both by Clarke & Clarke for an on-trend monochrome look.

Give the scheme a modern edge with a soft grey backdrop and add definition by painting the picture rail a striking dark grey.

Then add to the mix beautiful artisan ceramics for a stylish finishing touch.
