I had a lovely letter from Mrs Peggy Ruscoe yesterday, that I thought I’d share with you:
‘I have just seen the front cover of the November issue of Country Homes & Interiors and had to do a double-take. Covering the table was the identical tablecloth to the one I have! Mine was bought as a kit to embroider oneself from, if I remember correctly, my mother’s weekly Woman magazine in about 1964.
‘I was engaged to be married and made this cloth for my future home. I used it a lot in our early married life, but as our family grew in size we needed a bigger dining table and a larger cloth to fit! On seeing it in print I have found it in the cupboard and shall be proud to use it again – it still looks good for a 46-year-old cloth! Thanks for making my day!Tweet
