• Make a headboard slip cover

Just before I go… as a little preview of our up-and-coming September issue I thought you’d like to see this lovely idea for an easy-to-stitch headboard cover. It’s made in a simple stripe by Harlequin and has side panels in a contrasting fabric. The head and foot boards here are quite chunky so the covers need the side panels, but if you have a metal bedstead you can omit them altogether and add hemmed facings instead – just insert ties into the seam allowances. It’s a great way to tailor a mismatching bed into a decorating scheme. Click here for instructions. For more stitch and craft ideas visit our sister site House to Home.

Use our instructions to make a head or foot board cover – or both!
