Deputy Editor Sara Bird has made these pretty paper butterfly decorations – perfect for party drinks in the garden. Simply fold coloured card in half. Along the folded edge draw two joined loops, like a curly ‘M’ shape, and mark a small line parallel to the fold. Cut out shape and cut down the line with a crafting knife then unfold to create a butterfly. Thread ribbon through the two cut parallel lines and tie to a glass. If you’re more confident you can cut shapes from the butterfly to create patterned wings. For coloured card visit Hobbycraft. For coloured ribbon try John Lewis. For glassware try IKEA.
