On Saturday, we cracked open the first bottle from the batch of Elderflower champagne that I made a few weeks ago. Thank you for all your recipe suggestions. I used Sarah Raven’s version from her new book Food for Friends & Family in the end, which has quickly become a favourite of mine. Her ‘quick’ recipe suggested the use of a teaspoon of dried yeast.
I must say the bottle opened with a gutsy pop and had a lovely zingy and refreshing taste. It was enjoyed by all – young and old. Even my other half, Justin, who will only usually let Budvar pass his lips was impressed!Tweet
